Microfinance originally evolved as ‘microcredit’ to targeted people has changed a lot over the years. Microfinance, started through an NGO and cooperatives as a movement to cater financial services to the poor, is now recognized as a tool to enhance financial inclusion, women empowerment and promoting self-employment thereby helping to alleviate poverty. Swabalamban Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd.(SWBBL) is a national level microfinance institution promoted with initiatives of Centre for Self-help Development(CSD) along with commercial banks-Himalayan Bank Ltd., Nepal Investment Bank Ltd., Nabil Bank Ltd and individual promoters committed toward poverty alleviation.
Swabalamban distributed relief to the Client. Swabalamban Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. has allocated 50 lakhs rupees for relief distribution to the victims of recent earthquake. It has also donated 1,11,111/- rupees to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund from the five days salary of per staff.
