CSD, the pioneer microfinance institution of Nepal, started poverty alleviation program in the three villages namely Panchwati of Udayapur, Jandol of Saptari and Rajpur of Siraha district of eastern part of Nepal. CSD’s Self-help Banking Program had become a landmark in supporting deprived women. With an aim to provide sustainable microfinance program, CSD later transferred SBP to Swabalamban Bikas Bank Ltd., is now providing microfinance services over many districts and thousands of the household to the poor people all over Nepal.
It is our great pleasure to be a part of the nation to eradicate the poverty. Reaching to the poorest of the poor, Swabalamban Laghubitta Bikas Bank is providing sustainable microfinance services to the doorsteps of the rural people from Taplejung of the east to Kanchanpur of the west and all the plains of the south to the base of the Mount Everest focusing to the poor women and has become the trusted name for the quality service with varieties of saving, credit, remittance and protection scheme products. Due to the increasing number of microfinance institution, now there are emerging many challenges like duplication of members and multiple borrowings which have resulted over indebtness to its member. I would like to assure that we are cognizant on this issue and sincere to maintain quality services. We will continue to focus on being more accessible to poor community by practicing further innovation in product development, delivery channels, smart technology adaptation and overall satisfaction.
This is my great opportunity to pay thank to all the banks, NRB, SEBON, NEPSE, CRO, valued shareholder, dedicated staffs and well-wisher for their valuable support and cooperation in our endeavors.
